At the Citizens’ University we want to facilitate encounters, so we would like to invite you to the HHU campus, the Haus der Universität on Schadowplatz and other public places in the city, such as cultural and educational institutions.
Whether face-to-face or via live stream at home due to the pandemic – we look forward to talking to you! You can find all events in our calendar.
Haus der Universität (“University House”)
The Haus der Universität plays a key role at the interface between science and the public for Heinrich Heine University. It has served as an academic conference venue and central forum for the programme offered by the Citizens’ University since 2013 with the aim of anchoring university research/teaching and academic culture at the heart of the city.
The HHU campus – the hub of academic life, research and teaching – is not only home to numerous works of art, such as the Heine Monument, but also to numerous events for the public: the Heinrich Heine Guest Professorship, the Film Festival, the Campus Fair and many more. The Botanical Garden and the Düsseldorf University and State Library are also located there.
In order to bring scientific findings to the public, we also meet at other venues in the city, such as the Heine Institute, the Institut Français or the Goethe Museum. You can find out where our events take place in the calendar.
