HHU funding programme for research projects with citizen participation

Under this programme, HHU provides internal funding for projects conducted by HHU researchers that actively involve citizens and representatives of organised civil society. This involvement can range from the joint development of a project proposal, to participation in the implementation of projects and transfer into practice.

The ways in which people can participate may vary depending on the field of research and focus of the specific project, but they should all generate genuine added value for research. Without impacting scientific quality standards, the objective is to empower citizens to contribute to research results through their skills, expertise and enthusiasm.

The funding programme also aims to make scientific processes and the work of researchers more accessible to the public and thereby break down barriers between science and society.

You can find information on applications for funding under the programme and an overview of funded projects to date here.
