Application: Funding line 1
Paused in 2024: funding line 1 (financing of citizen science projects)
The “Bürgeruniversität in der Forschung” (Citizens’ University in Research) programme comprises two funding lines: In funding line 1, citizen science projects are funded with a maximum of €60,000. Citizen science involves the active participation of citizens and civil society organisations in various phases of the research process. Participation ranges from the generation of scientific questions, the development of a research project, data collection and analysis to the communication of research findings. Further information on citizen science and its place within the participatory research landscape can be found here and here. Funding line 1 (citizen science projects) is currently paused.
Funding line 2 provides seed funding of up to €25,000 for third-party funded projects in the broad and diverse field of participatory research (citizen science, transdisciplinary research, transformative research, etc.). The current call for proposals for funding line 2 (2024) can be found here.
