Participate
The idea of the Citizens’ University thrives on participation. Without the commitment of our students, researchers and staff, and the interest of citizens and a range of representatives from politics, business, culture and civil society, we would not have been able to follow the path we have taken so far.
There are numerous ways to get involved with the Citizens’ University on the HHU campus or in the city. We have compiled information for various groups on how and where you can get involved here. If you cannot find the information you are looking for, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help.
You can participate by taking part in our event programme: Vote for the best science slammers, discuss current social challenges with us and get to know our researchers and their projects. You can find the event calendar here.
Research projects and courses in which citizens can actively participate are also conducted regularly within the framework of the Citizens’ University activities. If you are interested in participating, please contact the funded research and teaching projects directly.
Our blog (German only), in which many dedicated researchers and students are involved, also offers an insight into Citizens’ University projects.
Would you like to share your research results with the public, involve citizens or relevant stakeholders in society in your research projects or gain practical experience with your students? You can find everything you need to know about our funding opportunities in citizen science, community-oriented teaching and science communication here.
We also offer regular science communication training – please see our website and internal mails/announcements for more information.
If you have any questions about our offers and funding opportunities, please feel free to contact the Public Engagement Unit team.
We would welcome your involvement in the Citizens’ University.
In cooperation with HHU researchers, student initiatives can apply for funding for suitable projects within the framework of our Community-oriented teaching (German only) and science communication funding pool (German only) funding lines.
Do you have questions about the Citizens’ University or collaboration opportunities with HHU? Would you like to get involved with concrete project ideas? The Public Engagement Unit team would be pleased to help interested representatives from business, civil society, politics and culture.
