Funding Programme Community-oriented Teaching

The "community-oriented teaching" programme uses central quality improvement funds to support socially relevant teaching projects involving external cooperation partners and target groups beyond the research and specialist community. The following teaching formats are eligible for funding: Teaching and science communication, Service learning and Research-based learning in/with society.

The teaching projects funded by the programme are intended to promote the social engagement of students in order to enable them to develop personal values and a sense of civic responsibility. Cooperation with community partners and close links between teaching and transfer activities are also intended to facilitate the transition to the non-academic job market. The programme also gives students the opportunity to reflect on social problems and acquire skills in communicating scientific knowledge.

You can find further information on applications for funding as well as the eligible teaching formats under the programme and an overview of funded projects to date here (German only).
