Science Communication

Open dialogue between science and society is what really brings the idea of the “Citizens’ University” to life. That’s why Heinrich Heine University promotes activities that facilitate this dialogue and contribute to a better understanding of science and scientific practice. These activities may involve innovative event formats, exhibitions, videos, blogs, etc. Classical scientific talks cannot be funded.

Researchers at all stages of their career can apply for grants of up to €1,000 for individual science communication and dialogue measures from the “Citizens’ University ad hoc funding pool”.

We also offer science communication training several times each year to encourage and support HHU researchers in dialogue with society. Our courses cover a range of relevant topics and are updated regularly.
